Last year, following the November release of his sophomore album, Take Care, Drake critics began to call him “soft.” Following the trend started by Ja Rule, nearly a decade earlier, Drake often sang along with his songs. Unlike Ja Rule, Drake was actually able to carry a tune.
However, this did not stop rappers from taking shots at Drake. Common was among the first to openly challenge Drake. In response to all the “soft” criticisms, Drake delivered a verse on Rick Ross’ “Stay Schemin’,” alongisde French Montana, which responded to the disses from Common. Common responded, but the critics evaporated.
Drake briefly dated Rihanna following her 2009 split from Chris Brown. With the two collaborating for the first time in years, there are rumors of them getting back together. Recently, an altercation took place, leaving Chris Brown scarred. Meek Mill was in attendance, has issues with Brown, and denied any involvement, as has Drake, who was thought to be “friends” with Brown.
While Drake denies attacking Chris Brown, footage has been leaked.
