As much as the new energy on the New York hip hop scene is providing, the veterans are still leading the way. In recent months, Nas and Jadakiss have emerged as the two most-popular and relevant rappers from the Big Apple. Though he is not quite from New York City, DMX, of the adjacent city, Yonkers, has provided just as much over the years.
Finally free of his legal woes and done with drugs, DMX is preparing to force his own comeback, as his peers have done. DMX has been performing throughout the United States ever since his release from prison in July 2011. Over the past few months, DMX has been rather impressive, even releasing new material, with May’s The Weigh In.
Recently, Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg caught up with DMX. During their conversation, DMX mentioned his upcoming perfomance at Rock the Bells 2012. In the long interview, DMX also addressed the Nicki Minaj situation. Previously, DMX made it known he is not a big fan, at all, of the Young Money movement.
