Every year, New York City’s Hot 97 tries to put on an entertaining show at their Summer Jam concert. In the post-Jay-Z and Nas era, no Summer Jam festival has caused as much controversy as the Summer Jam 2012. Peter Rosenberg, a Hot 97 personality who has made it clear he is not a fan of Nicki Minaj’s music, dissed her “Starships” single before she was to take the stage.
Nicki Minaj ended up pulling out of the performances, following a tweet from Lil Wayne saying his entire Young Money camp would not be performing at Summer Jam. Since this tweet and the controversy which has followed, Hot 97 has had choice words for Nicki Minaj. As usual, their crosstown rivals, Power 105.1, have been capitalizing off this.
Unable to get her point across on Hot 97, Nicki Minaj aired her issues out with Power 105.1, who also ended up being dissed by Peter Rosenberg. During his recent visit with “The Breakfast Club,” popular West Coast rapper, Kendrick Lamar, was asked about the feud. Careful to not put himself in the middle, K. Dot said he understood where Nicki Minaj was coming from.
