Recently, Trap TV caught up with Jadakiss, who is fresh off the release of Consignment. Despite being released as a free mixtape, Jadakiss said the project was truly an album. The fans have agreed and Jadakiss said he gave this project to his fans on “consignment,” as he completes his long-awaited album, Top 5 Dead or Alive. Rick Ross has used a similar formula, releasing Rich Forever as the wait continues for God Forgives, I Don’t.

With the mixtape out of the way, Jadakiss is fully focused on Top 5 Dead or Alive. Initially, the album was announced in 2009. During this time, Jadakiss promised he would rise to become the new king of New York and deliver an album a year. However, label issues have kept Jadakiss from consistently releasing new projects. Last year, Jadakiss delivered his I Love You mixtape, which was also regarded as an album.

Jadakiss promised the first single from Top 5 Dead or Alive would be released on July 4 and he said the official album will be completed soon. With the album soon to be done, Jadakiss said he plans to release the album in the fall, hoping for September or October. Aside from his album, Jadakiss will also be working with N.O.R.E. on a joint tour. The two have mixed their mixtape names, calling their tour “Consignment on Steroids.”
