It was a year ago when Future took hip hop by storm with “Tony Montana.” The single quickly gained popularity and many other rappers began remixing the single. Among those who provided their own spins of the single was Drake. Future and Drake’s collaboration did not go as expected, but Future still expressed gratitude for having the chance to work with Drake.
Earlier this year, Future released his debut album, Pluto. After years of releasing mixtapes, leading up to him signing with Epic Records, Future emerged as hip hop’s new bright star. Future’s emergence came right when the Atlanta hip hop scene was experiencing waves of new life. Other breakout stars from Atlanta have been 2 Chainz, Alley Boy, and Pill, only naming a few.
Future has new projects in the works only a month after Pluto. Speaking with XXL, Future revealed he wants to release his Super Future mixtape in September. Following the release of his new mixtape, the Atlanta star is focusing solely on his upcoming album, Future Hendrix. Future said the new album would come between December 2012 and February 2013.
