The new breed of hip hop is represented by A$AP Rocky, who is quickly becoming the focal point of the new hip hop scene in New York City. Many others from the Big Apple are making names for themselves. Among these popular newer artists are the likes of French Montana, Denzil Porter, and Emilio Rojas, only naming a few.

A$AP Rocky has risen to popularity, despite sounding more like a Houston native than a Harlem native. During his interview with MTV’s “RapFix Live,” A$AP Rocky spoke on this. For everyone who loves A$AP Rocky and the A$AP Mob, there are critics who feel they are unoriginal.

Mike Dean is among the critics of the A$AP Mob. On Twitter, he got into an altercation with A$AP Yams. Initially, he was explaining what hip hop was missing and then it became an anti-A$AP rant. A$AP Rocky said he was initially a fan of their music, so he does not see what the current problem is.
