Ten years away from the game, many of which due to his prison sentence, Mystikal resurfaced with none other than Cash Money Records. The New Orleans-based record label has grown to become one of the top hip hop labels in the game. Aside from Mystikal, many other veteran artists, along with many newcomers.
There has been much discussion surrounding Mystikal’s return to the rap game, given he was signed to both No Limit and Cash Money. When he was sent to prison, however, Mystikal was not tied to a “crew” record label. At the top of his game, he was sent away and has been working overtime to get his spot back.
Early in 2012, Mystikal released “Original” and announced his album would hold the same title. A probation violation has halted Mystikal’s plans of a summer takeover, as he will be spending summer behind bars. Instead, Mystikal is preparing to release a mixtape, properly titled Origins.
