Last week, many hip hop fans were surprised to hear a record from Serena Williams. TMZ leaked part of a song which featured Serena Williams rapping. Over the years, many athletes have tried their hand at hip hop. Among those hip hop all-stars include Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, and Ron Artest.

While Shaquille O’Neal had a little success in the rap game, athletes who have tried to rap have ultimately been punchlines. The rappers, however, have welcomed most athletes with open arms, as many often fantasize of playing sports. Game, given his height, came close to choosing basketball over hip hop, but in the end his lifestyle was more geared towards rap.

Game has shared a special connection with Serena Williams throughout his career. On his critically-acclaimed song, “Dreams,” Game dedicated the track to Williams’ slain sister. Speaking on her potential rap career, Game said fans should not expect anything less than strong lyrics from her. As a rapper, Game said Williams is gifted and fans should expect big things.
