Back in 2008, 50 Cent revealed he would be joining the DJ Drama craze. DJ Drama had been hosting mixtapes for many rising artists in the South. During this period of time, 50 Cent was suffering from dwindling popularity. As a result, 50 Cent began dissing many of these Southern artists.

The fact that 50 Cent soon had a Gangsta Grillz mixtape in the works surprised many people. 50 Cent credited DJ Drama as the hottest DJ in the game and said he had to get something going with him. After all the hype surrounding the mixtape, 50 Cent never released the mixtape.

Last month, though, 50 Cent announced the mixtape, The Lost Tape, with DJ Drama, a pun on the mixtape that never came. In the time since then, DJ Drama and 50 Cent have been discussing their joint project in the media. 50 Cent promised to release the mixtape on May 15, but he recently revealed to MTV News that he is going to delay the mixtape.
