Six years away from the game, Raekwon returned in 2009 with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Pt. II. In the time since the release of that album, Raekwon has been one of the most-discussed names in hip hop. The comeback effort from Raekwon was considered a classic by many. Raekwon was proud of his album, but expressed regret in missing out on a collaboration with Nas.

At the time, Nas was working on his Distant Relatives album with Damian Marley. The album would be a classic from Nas, who also spoke on not being featured on Raekwon’s album. Raekwon sounded very disappointed and said he wanted to work with Nas again. The two made everything better when they recorded “Rich and Black” last year.

XXL recently spoke to Raekwon about working closer with Nas. The question of a collaborative album was brought up. In response to questions of if he would record an album with Nas, Raekwon said he would do it if they could sit down and discuss things. If there was demand from fans, he and Nas could do it, and the business was right, Raekwon said he would be all for an album with Nas.
