With his O.N.I.F.C. album on the way, Wiz Khalifa has returned to the spotlight, following a few months in the background. Alongside his new album, Wiz Khalifa is in the news because of Kanye West mentioning him and disses from Waka Flocka Flame. But, when Hip-Hop Wired spoke with Wiz Khalifa, the conversation was more about his own work.

Before the Kanye West name-drop on “Way too Cold,” Wiz Khalifa spent most of his time discussing his relationship with Amber Rose and his new album. Now, Wiz Khalifa has released the first official single from O.N.I.F.C., which is building anticipation for the project. During his conversation with Hip Hop Wired, Wiz Khalifa revealed a surprising collaboration.

The Pittsburgh emcee announced he would be collaborating with The Weeknd on his new album. Not only annoucning the song, Wiz Khalifa also explained it.

Read Wiz Khalifa’s statement about his collaboration with The Weeknd below:

“It’s good you know, because he’s a trippy dude. Actually, he reaches out to me and he calls me and he is really excited about it. He sent it to me and we got it done, and he follows up on it. It’s really away from the character people know him for, so with me and him and Juicy too, we work really well together.”

“And we’ve got a lot of stuff that people are going to hear from. I think people will definitely hear the difference,” Taylor Allderdice was a lot of fun, and O.N.I.F.C. is a lot more fun. The stuff that people wanted to pay for and was worth of them going into their pockets. And I feel like these songs on O.N.I.F.C. are more than worthy of that, so I’m happy.”
