Nostalgic fans watched a dream come true when Tupac Shakur performed at Coachella 2012, sixteen years after his death in Las Vegas. Since the day news broke of his death, many fans have speculated about Tupac still being alive. There were rumors of Shakur returning in 2003, seven years after his death, to reclaim his position in the rap game.
Tupac Shakur would wait another nine years before he returned, but his return was via hologram for a set at Coachella orchestrated by Dr. Dre. Fans were glad to see Tupac Shakur on stage, regardless of the capacity. When his mother was asked how she felt about seeing her son performing, Afeni Shakur said she was very happy and loved the hologram concept.
Once Afeni Shakur gave her approval, many began to wonder if Tupac Shakur would return for more concert performances. The hologram concept worked well and was met with positive reviews. Now, it seems as if Tupac Shakur will be making more performances from the grave, via hologram. Currently, there are negotiations about Shakur’s image going on tour with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
