Ace Hood talks Death of His Daughter with XXL

The struggle Ace Hood went through between 2009 and 2011 has been well-documented. A part of DJ Khaled’s We the Best movement, Ace Hood was signed to DJ Khaled’s Def Jam South-distributed label, We the Best Music Group. Popular due to his affiliation, Ace Hood struggled to build a solid fan base of his own.

Following two albums, both met with low record sales and poor critical reaction, no album was scheduled for Ace Hood in 2010. By this point, the lifestyle he built for himself was beginning to crumble. Struggling to sustain his lifestyle, Ace Hood turned to DJ Khaled for support and he soon regained his career.

Enjoying a successful comeback, Ace Hood has returned to the studio to create additional music. With his album not scheduled until sometime later in 2011, Ace Hood has been delivering mixtapes. On his “Hallucinations” track, taken from his new mixtape, Starvation, Ace Hood mentioned the death of his daughter.

Those who heard the song were curious about the line, so Ace Hood opened up to XXL about his daughter, who was stillborn.
