Last year, Lil B skyrocketed to fame with the release of his I’m Gay (I’m Happy) album. The title of the album angered many, but Lil B gained the respect of Lil Wayne and Lupe Fiasco, among other established veterans. There are many who are not impressed with Lil B, but it has not stopped him from becoming one of the new breakout artists.

Lil B calls himself the “Based God” and has turned the phrase “based” into a slang term. Popularized on social networking sites, such as Twitter, Lil B often mentions “based” as “#based.” The term has garnered additional attention to Lil B. Because the phrase has become so popular, New York Univeristy has called upon the “Based God.”

For $5, those on the campus of New York University can listen to a lecture from Lil B. The Bay Area rapper will be discussing the term “#based” and explaining its meaning. Lil B discussed his new position at NYU on Twitter, saying: “the reason why i am having my first rare lecture at NYU university is because I specialize in the progression of human race.”
