Gone are the days of Cash Money Records operating as a boutique record label. Cash Money Records has been expanding for years. The label now includes several subsidiaries and features artists of genres outside of hip hop. Recently, Cash Money Records added Limp Bizkit, a legendary rock group, to their roster of talent. The group is already working on their first music under the umbrella of YMCMB.

Birdman is one of the most-confident record executives in the game. After coming up the way he did, he feels there is nothing he cannot do. Next on the agenda for Birdman in 2012 is turning his label into one of the most-dominant in the game. In 2011, Birdman said he had goals of the label releasing eleven albums. Birdman’s goals are even bigger in 2012, with him wanting to release sixteen albums on the label.

Talking with XXL, once again, Birdman discussed his plans for the upcoming year. Along with his brother, Slim, Birdman hopes to add more artists to the label. Since Cash Money has dominated hip hop for so long, Birdman wants to venture out into other genres, including rock and gospel. The addition of Limp Bizkit was a step in the right direction for the rock division of the label. Birdman spoke on how the Cash Money brand has become associated with hip hop, but he also points out the label is a machine, when run properly. The addition of Limp Bizkit has made this machine stronger and Birdman now hopes to prove it.
