Most rappers are fortunate to have one run on top of the game, 2 Chainz has enjoyed three successful runs and under two monikers. Last fall, 2 Chainz reintroduced himself to the game, with many having no idea he was DTP’s Tity Boi. 2 Chainz has become one of the top rappers on the Atlanta mixtape scene. His buzz helped him land not only a record deal, but a partnership with Def Jam.
In only a matter of months, 2 Chainz went from being forgotten to being one of the hottest rappers on the mixtape scene and his name has been mentioned all over hip hop media. 2 Chainz’ work paid off when he was featured on Young Jeezy’s TM103 on the “Supafreak” track, which is likely to become a single.
The Atlanta hip hop scene is on the come-up and 2 Chainz is one of the reasons Atlanta is becoming the hip hop hotbed, once again. 2 Chainz has a major label deal, a label of his own, several business ventures in the works, and his solo debut album on the way. In many ways, 2 Chainz’ rise and impact on his city is similar to that of French Montana.
