Years after their initial entrance into the game, Outkast has remained one of the most-popular groups in the game. Back in 2003, there were rumors of the group breaking up when their album was split, one album being for Big Boi, the other for Andre 3000. During this time, the duo was at the peak of their popularity, only releasing one album since then.

In 2009, Big Boi shocked fans when he signed a solo deal with Def Jam. The following summer, Big Boi released his debut album and Andre 3000 was not featured. However, it was revealed Big Boi wanted to release a solo album with Sony, but was blocked. With the company blocking a new Outkast album, he decided to go solo.

In 2011, Andre 3000 began doing several features. Without having a single of his own, he was among the most-popular rappers of the year. Andre 3000’s buzz is high right now, leading many to wonder if he has an album in the works. There have been rumors of another album coming from Outkast in 2012.

Earlier today, Andre 3000 addressed those rumors. Recently, Andre 3000 denied rumors of a new Outkast album, but he did say there would be a lot of new music on the way. Fortunately for him, Andre said he was contacted by several newer artists for features. It was these features, which have returned him to the forefront of the game. Andre 3000 is going to make the most of it, however, as he is planning to finally release a solo album, which is due for release later this year.
