There was a three-year gap between releases for Young Jeezy’s last two albums. However, during the years between, Young Jeezy managed to remain relevant. Young Jeezy was featured on several singles in 2009 and 2010, even posting a hit with his, “Lose My Mind” single. Even after the strong release of his TM103 album, which led to a strong comeback.

Despite the comeback, Young Jeezy was left off MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” list. Many rappers, who did not release any albums in 2011, made the list. Meek Mill, who did have a phenomenal year, made it onto the list, right behind Jay-Z. Another rapper who made the list, without releasing an album was 2 Chainz, who discussed why MTV left Young Jeezy off the list.

2 Chainz recently discussed Young Jeezy’s exclusion from the MTV “Hottest MCs in the Game” countdown, with DJ Self. During the interview, 2 Chainz said the timing of Young Jeezy’s album release may have stopped him from making the countdown.
