Who Got Next in Atlanta?… B.o.B.

At a time when hip hop was transitioning, B.o.B. helped further this change with his 2010 debut album, The Adventures of Bobby Ray. The album featured a string of top ten hits and immediately earned the Grand Hustle standout comparisons to Andre 3000. However, B.o.B. struggled to keep his name in the media, following the promotional run from his debut album.

For a year, B.o.B. had been in the background, until he returned during the fall of 2011, announcing plans of releasing another album. B.o.B. would release his “Strange Clouds” single, which featured a verse from Lil Wayne, before revealing his album would not come until 2012. Still, during his brief run, the rising rapper proved he could be the next big thing.

The alternative style B.o.B. boasts is something Atlanta has already embraced and it is something the hip hop world needs. When he is given the proper shine, B.o.B. has proven he has the star power it takes to become one of the most-popular rappers in the game. Later this year, B.o.B. will release his second album, Strange Clouds, and he will definitely be instrumental in putting Atlanta back on the map.
