Every goal Rick Ross set out to accomplish when he first picked up the microphone, he has done before the release of his fifth solo album. Rick Ross rose from being a local Miami rapper to being featured on platinum albums and signed to Slip-N-Slide Records. Eventually, Rick Ross would become one of the biggest rappers in the game, commanding the respect from legends and newcomers, alike.

After a dominant year in 2010, Rick Ross got off to a quick start in 2011. In the opening days of the year, he announced the title of his fifth album, God Forgives, I Don’t. Rick Ross began another dominant year, but discussion about his album ceased. During the summer of 2011, Rick Ross would again mention the album. Drake and DJ Khaled said it would be a classic.

In the fall of 2011, Rick Ross prepared to release God Forgives, I Don’t on December 13, but Rick Ross’ health failed him two months prior to the release date. After having two seizures on October 14, Def Jam ordered Rick Ross to take a break. With this break came the delay of God Forgives, I Don’t. Rick Ross brushed the situation off, calling his seizures, “minor setbacks.”

The “minor setbacks” ended up working well for Rick Ross, as he finally caught the attention of Dr. Dre. Last month, there were pictures of Dre hanging out with Rick Ross in Miami at his birthday bash. In 2009, when he started his feud with 50 Cent, Rick Ross expressed interest in working his way up until he landed collaborations from Eminem and Dr. Dre. Late in 2009 and late in 2010, Rick Ross challenged Eminem to no response, but eventually caught Dre’s attention.

Making up for not releasing an album in 2011, Rick Ross has two albums planned for release in 2012. Rick Ross is currently working with Dr. Dre on putting the finishing touches on God Forgives, I Don’t. Fueling the Detox rumors, once again, Rick Ross said he is putting in work for the mythical album. If the album ever comes, it will now boast verses from Rick Ross. Meanwhile, God Forgives, I Don’t will boast production, and possibly a verse, from Dr. Dre.

In a span of three years, Rick Ross has turned the impossible into his reality and now he is preparing to announce the new release date for his long-awaited God Forgives, I Don’t album.
