Since the 2011 release of Lasers, Lupe Fiasco has been relatively absent from the public eye. However, he was present at the Grammy Awards last night. Lasers was nominated for ‘Best Rap Album,’ losing to The Throne of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne. While he has been out of the spotlight, Lupe Fiasco has been recording with various artists, including a collaborative LP with Pharrell.

Last night was a break for Lupe Fiasco, as he brought his mother along for his Grammy celebration, spending red carpet time with her and J. Cole’s mother. Despite losing out to Jay-Z and Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco had an enjoyable night. After working so much, it probably felt nice to relax and enjoy the night, alongside his peers from various genres.

Now, the party is over for Lupe Fiasco. The outspoken rapper took to his Twitter a few minutes ago, reporting on his studio work. Lupe Fiasco announced he has returned to the studio, again working on his much-discussed album, Food & Liquor 2. Initially, Lupe Fiasco planned to release this album in 2011, but eventually delayed it until 2012.
