After spending 2011 promoting the hits off her debut album, Pink Friday, Nicki Minaj announced she would be returning to the studio to record a new album. There have been rumors of Nicki Minaj working on a new album since early 2011. However, Nicki Minaj continued releasing singles from her 2010 debut well into the summer of 2011.

Late in 2011, Nicki Minaj announced Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded would be the title of her next album and she promptly released “Roman in Moscow.” The song was panned by critics and fans, leading Nicki Minaj to say the song would be the wackest on the album. Early in 2012, Nicki Minaj released her controversial single, aimed at Lil’ Kim, “Stupid Hoe.”

The album is currently set for an April 3, 2012 release date and Nicki Minaj will debut her new track, “Roman Holiday,” at the 54th Grammy Awards. Nicki Minaj is nominated for three Grammys including ‘Best New Artist,’ ‘Best Rap Performance,’ and ‘Best Rap Album.’ On February 13, Ryan Seacrest will premiere the next single from the album, “Starships.”
