Apparently Diddy is not the only hip hop figure entering the television business. Long before Diddy was even known in the public, Will Smith was dominating television with “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” Will Smith has since moved on from doing television shows to movies and production. From 2003 until 2007, Will Smith was the executive producer of the UPN/CW series, “All of Us.”
In recent years, Will Smith has been dominating Hollywood, while he and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have been developing their children into stars. Fans met Jaden Smith with his starring role in The Karate Kid and he has landed a few more starring roles in movies. During the fall of 2010, Willow Smith was signed by Jay-Z and had a hit single, “Whip My Hair.”
The famed supercouple of Will and Jada are teaming up with Simon Cowell for their next major project, a television show. Cowell has proven successful over the past decade in choosing talent with his television shows. With hip hop not having much exposure on television, the Smiths are teaming up with Simon Cowell for a DJ-themed talent series.
