Snoop Dogg has been off to a relatively silent start to 2012, as he has been touring around the country. At his most-recent stop, in Texas, Tha Doggfather ran into a bit of trouble. As Snoop Dogg’s tour bus was driving through Sierra Blanca, it was stopped for a routine border patrol. During the routine search, the dog sniffed out a few joints.
Throughout his career, Snoop Dogg has rapped about smoking marijuana. Over the years, Snoop Dogg has gone from being considered a “gangsta rapper” to being considered a “weed rapper.” It was Snoop Dogg’s use of marijuana that led him to Wiz Khalifa. Through the marijuana, the two rappers discovered they shared many similarities.
In California, Snoop Dogg’s native state, certain laws allow people to possess marijuana. Snoop Dogg has a prescription for marijuana. However, the law does not carry over into other states. Despite Texas being on the border of California, they have no tolerance of marijuana. Snoop Dogg was issued a citation for misdemeanor drug possession and released.
