Young Buck teams with Maybach Music

There was once a time when Young Buck was not only an active member of G-Unit, but a time when he was considered the most-loyal member of the crew. Unlike Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks, Young Buck did not grow up with 50 Cent. While both rappers were searching for record deals, they decided it would be best to team up. When Tony Yayo was sent to prison, Young Buck was the replacement.

The G-Unit movement was very strong from 2003 until 2005, peaking with the addition of Mobb Deep to the G-Unit Records branch. However, with 50 Cent feuding with several popular rappers and not releasing much new music, G-Unit began to suffer. In 2006, rival, Game, released his Doctor’s Advocate album, which threw shots at G-Unit and Young Buck rose to the defense of the crew.

Young Buck and Game nearly came to blows during Young Jeezy’s afterparty of the 2007 NBA All-Star Game. Those on the outside looking in at G-Unit would have never guessed beef was brewing within the crew between 50 Cent and Young Buck. During a 2006 radio interview, 50 Cent had choice words for Young Buck, but Buck’s second album, Buck the World, was still released in 2007.

In 2008, Young Buck intended to release his third album, but 50 Cent announced Young Buck would no longer be a member of G-Unit, the group and froze all of his projects. Following this, Young Buck released a series of G-Unit disses and reached out to several rivals of the crew. When Rick Ross began his feud with 50 Cent, among his first supporters was Young Buck. At the time, Young Buck said he wanted to form an alliance with the Miami rapper.

Following three years of battling to leave G-Unit Records, Young Buck was finally released from the label. Officially a free man, Buck has teamed up with Ross’ ever-popular Maybach Music. One day after making his affiliation with former G-Unit member, turned rival, Bang ‘Em Smurf, Rick Ross is now working with Young Buck. His latest mixtape, The Rehab Mixtape, will be released on behalf of Maybach Music.

Despite not having an official record deal, Young Buck said he loves his position. Currently, the rapper is able to release his music and give it directly to the people.
