Since the rise of Young Money, several hip hop boutique record labels have united for compilation albums. The early stages of 2011 centered around Rick Ross’ rapid expansion of his Maybach Music imprint. After landing a distribution deal with Warner Bros. Records, Rick Ross released a compilation album from the crew.

While Rick Ross has been all over the news with his business ventures, he has not been the only artist expanding his label roster. For years, Kanye West has had his G.O.O.D. Music label, but the label never had a solid distribution deal. Following the promotion of Big Sean, who was signed to a distribution deal with Def Jam, Kanye West placed his entire label under Def Jam.

Months following the move to Def Jam, Kanye West announced a compilation album from G.O.O.D. Music would soon be on the way. Recently, Big Sean discussed the G.O.O.D. Music compilation, saying the first single would soon be released. As for the album, Big Sean said the album would soon be on the way, released during the Spring.
