2 Chainz says Rap Needs a Simon Cowell

Known for his work with Playaz Circle as Tity Boi, 2 Chainz has reinvented himself in 2011. Along with his new style has come a new name. 2 Chainz has been very busy, collaborating with a number of artists over the past few months. Currently, 2 Chainz is trying to re-gain the buzz he had in 2007, from the hit Playaz Circle single, “Duffle Bag Boy.”

As a member of DTP, 2 Chainz has watched hard-working artists. For years, Ludacris dominated the rap game, releasing several albums within the span of four years. 2 Chainz is putting the same type of work into his own solo career. During a recent interview with PowTV, 2 Chainz said other rappers need to be putting in the same type of work.

2 Chainz said rappers need to treat the rap game just as they would any other job. Frustrated with the attitude and work ethic of some rappers, 2 Chainz said things have to change. One person 2 Chainz admires is Simon Cowell. The DTP rapper feels hip hop needs someone like him, not someone to be cruel and discourage, but someone to provide constructive criticism.
