Drake talks not winning Grammy and Album Leak

Despite being all over the radio and television, Drake is still a relatively new artist. A year ago, during this time, Drake was fresh off the release of his debut album. Yet, one year later, he appears as a seasoned veteran in the game. On his verse on Rick Ross’ “Aston Martin Music,” Drake raps about not hitting the pinnacles he plans to reach. Among those pinnacles are winning a Grammy award.

Early in his career, Drake lost a Grammy when his “Best I Ever Had” single lost to Jay-Z’s comeback single, “D.O.A.” Even with so many years left in his career, Drake said he has given up on the Grammys. Drake said he does not mean any disrespect, but he has dreamed of winning the elusive Grammy award ever since he was a young child. If he does ever win a Grammy, however, Drake said he would be estatic.

While he may not win a Grammy any time soon, Drake does have a lot to look forward to. Next week, Drake will officially release his sophomore album, Take Care. Based off the reaction to the leaked album, Drake is likely to win several BET and MTV awards off the album. Already, he has spawned two hit singles, “Headlines” and “Make Me Proud.” Unlike other artists who have suffered from album leaks, Drake feels it is a great way for people to judge the album before they go out to by the album. Already a platinum rapper, Drake thinks album leaks are actually a good thing.
