Every few months, there is much discussion about Dr. Dre’s Detox. A year ago, there was plenty of momentum surrounding the album. This spring, Dr. Dre posted a top ten hit with “I Need a Doctor” and many felt as if Detox would finally be released. However, following the “I Need a Doctor” single, nothing came from Dr. Dre. Soon, the focus was shifted towards Game and his The R.E.D. Album, which went on to top the charts.
Following all the discussion about Detox, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg separately spoke with the media about the new music. While neither rapper could give the public a set release date, they both stated the album was currently in the mixing stages. Dr. Dre spoke on Detox earlier this year and said he would love to use the album to reunite Game and 50 Cent. Both rappers said this was highly unlikely.
With Game being a part of Aftermath Entertainment, once again, he is once again a major fixture with the Detox project. Recently, Game discussed the upcoming project, saying if the album were to see the light of day, he would be featured several times. Game spoke on the mythical album with KISS 107.5’s Jay Thomas.
