It took years for DJ Drama to get to where he is currently at. With his recent release of his Third Power album, DJ Drama has told more about his rise to the top. Initially working with independent artists and the major artists from the Atlanta area, DJ Drama soon had some of the biggest rappers in the game on his mixtapes. Now, working with DJ Drama is a great way for rappers to jump-start their careers or to get their name back out there.
Late in 2003, Twista made an unexpected comeback. His collaborations with Kanye West led to his eventual takeover in 2004. Twista returned for one more hit in 2005, before he virtually disappeared until last year. With his Chris Brown-assisted “Make a Movie” hit, Twista returned to radio waves around the United States. But, in the year since then, Twista has been out of the spotlight, once again, yet determined to deliver more hits.
Making moves in the right direction, Twista has teamed up with DJ Drama for his own Gangsta Grillz mixtape. Twista hopes to have the mixtape released in January of next year and it will remind fans of the sound he delivered on his first album, Adrenaline Rush. Aside from the new mixtape, Twista is focused on his next album, Dark Horse. The new mixtape will serve as promotion for the upcoming album, which does not yet have a secure release date. Twista wants to work with DJ Premier on this new album.
