The movement was soon headed by Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska and running mate to John McCain. While the Tea Party was initially a movement for the political misfits, it was soon taken over by right wing extremists.br /br /Tea Party members have infiltrated the Republican Party. The Tea Party-controlled Republican Party has turned some right wing members off. Still, the members of the Tea Party continue to make headlines. With the economy heading back to another recession, it is the Tea Party members causing problems in Congress.br /br /In response to this is Occupy Wall Street. Frustrated American citizens took to Wall Street, the business capital of the world, and began protesting the companies who refuse to hire, while making obscene profits. This is what has plagued the American economy, in the eyes of many. Occupy Wall Street quickly became a home for the left wing, as Lupe Fiasco and Immortal Technique joined the movement, followed by Talib Kweli.br /br /With Occupy Wall Street expanding to towns and cities all over the United States, Talib Kweli explained why he joined the movement. Talib Kweli said he is not politically aligned with everyone there, but he was drawn in by seeing democracy in action. The New York rapper admires how the people have come together to create social awareness and a platform to talk about the issues with the country.
