Lil Wayne settles "Lollipop" dispute with Jim Jonsin

At the time, he had yet to post a true radio hit. He had recorded hits with other artists, but had not gained a hit of his own. This would all change when he used Jim Jonsin’s beat and created “Lollipop.”br /br /The song was released in March of 2008 and quickly rose to the top of the charts. “Lollipop”s popularity was great promotion for the accompanying album, emTha Carter III./em The song propelled the album to end up going triple platinum. Even late in 2008, the song remained high on the charts.br /br /While “Lollipop” forever changed Lil Wayne’s career and established Jim Jonsin, there were problems. Jonsin was never properly paid for his work. The contract said Jim Jonsin would also receive royalties from the song. But, as the song continued to rise, Jonsin ended up being shorted and he took legal action.br /br /Today, Jim Jonsin revealed he and Lil Wayne sat down and they made an “arrangement.” He said he never had a problem with Wayne, they were just confused over the numbers.
