New Video of the Day: Rick Ross ft. Chrisette Michele and Drake – “Aston Martin Music”

Rick Ross has defied the odds by simply making good music. Consistently, Ross has dropped hit records, since his 2006 debut. Representing Miami, Rick Ross is well on his way to becoming one of the hottest rappers in the game. Last year, Hip Hop Vibe named Ross our inaugural Artist of the Year. Much of this stemmed from his beef with 50 Cent.

Rick Ross successfully used the G-Unit general’s tactic against him. In 2002-2003, 50 Cent targeted Ja Rule, who was one of the biggest rappers in the game. After an onslaught of disses, 50 Cent took his position in the game. Similarly, Ross targeted a stifled 50 Cent, giving him a ton of disses. Surprisingly, 50 Cent struggled against Ross.

Rick Ross handled the 50 Cent beef by building an alliance with Bang ‘Em Smurf. In addition, he linked up with Ja Rule, Fat Joe, and Game, 50’s top enemies for the “Mafia Music” remix. After declaring victory, he dropped Deeper Than Rap to much success. This year, he dropped Teflon Don, promising it would be the most successful hip hop album ever. Thus far, “Super High” with Ne-Yo is a hit.

Rick Ross has enjoyed tons of radio success with “Aston Martin Music.” The song features Drake and Chrisette Michele. In the music video, Drake has his own verse, where he raps, in addition to singing on the hook. Also, the Miami-filmed video has a cameo from Birdman.
