Fat Joe discusses Capitol Records split

II/i. The album was supposed to be released early in 2009, but was delayed by Capitol, breaching the contract. Fat Joe signed a unique deal with the label in which they only distriubted his music.br /br /With the album being the lowest-selling in his career, Fat Joe grew very angry with the label. In 2007, when he left Capitol, Chingy said the label is no place for a rapper. At the time, Mims disagreed, but he is also trying to leave the label. Upon joining there, Fat Joe praised the label and the deal they came up with, but he was glad to leave.br /br /Fat Joe has finally decided to explain the change of heart. He said because of the music on the album, they were going to ruin him. They wanted Fat Joe to record another type of album and he refused. Capitol Records did not want to release the album and they did not want Fat Joe to leave for another label. After threatening to take legal action against the label, they let him out of the contract.
