Chamillionaire wants the Top Spot

Late in 2005, he released his debut album, iThe Sound of Revenge/i. The album was suffering from low sales and an unpopular lead single. Universal Records, Chamillionaire’s label, was preparing to give up on the album. Cham begged the label to give his next single, “Ridin’,” a /br /The gamble paid off as the song quickly caught on with fans. “Ridin'” was released in March 2006 and was an anthem in weeks. It did not take long for Chamillionaire to top the Billboard Hot 100 with the single. Throughout the summer of 2006, Chamillionaire was one of the biggest rappers in the game. Due to his success, Universal Records wanted him to release another album in /br /Not wanting to rush the creative process, Chamillionaire refused to release an album. As a result, Chamillionaire was forgotten about and he could not get radio play for the lead single for his next album. Still, he remained confident about his place in the rap game. Early in the recording process, Chamillionaire revealed he would no longer curse in his music. The move was a bold one and it backfired and the album has yet to sell 100,000 copies after being out for nearly three /br /Universal Records has been unhappy with Chamillionaire for some time and he has been on the chopping block ever since 2008. Realizing the talent Cham has, the label has decided to keep him on each time. Cham has decided to be as blunt as he wants to be on his music, so he will curse on his music. For the past three years, Chamillionaire has been trying to release his third studio album, iVenom/i. This album will be the one to give Cham the top spot in the rap game. Despite topping the Billboard Hot 100, Chamillionaire feels he was never truly on top of the /br /Like many rappers before him, Chamillionaire wants to go on a run that will last over multiple albums.
