Kanye West negotiating with Interscope Records

For years, Kanye West has been under the shadow of Jay-Z, but last year this shadow moved. Because of his outburst at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West did not receive the opportunity to show his new project off. Instead, he took a break from the music /br /During his time off, Def Jam shifted more of their focus over to Rick Ross and because of his now flawed image; they are not willing to push Kanye West the way that they used to. Outside of his own career, Kanye West is the CEO of his own record label. Each of his albums have been released through G.O.O.D. Music and Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam. Now, Kanye West is looking for an exclusive distribution deal for his /br /Kanye West is actually one of only two artists on G.O.O.D. that records for Def Jam, the bulk of the roster records under Geffen/Interscope Records. However, there is a shift going on with Geffen Records since 50 Cent and G-Unit left. There are a lot of artists being moved around and the G.O.O.D. artists, which include Common, have been moved over to Interscope Records. In order to maximize his own profits, Kanye West wants his label under one /br /With the possibility of 50 Cent heading over to Def Jam, Kanye West is looking for a new home and the best way to punish 50 Cent is to break bread at his old home. West knows that if 50 Cent joins Def Jam he will never shut up about their past differences. Plus, Kanye is searching for the best possible deal for G.O.O.D. Music. Aside from West, Common is the most popular artist on the label and he records for Interscope /br /Based off of that fact alone, it would be best for Kanye West to see if some sort of deal can be worked out with Interscope Records for them to become the exclusive distributor of G.O.O.D.
