Early this morning, Hip Hop Vibe reflected on the good times with the original version of the Big Tymers. Seeing how many classics Mannie Fresh and Birdman put out, it is bittersweet to see how things turned out. Insisting it was just business, Mannie Fresh left Cash Money Records in 2005.
Birdman has had nothing nice to say about Mannie Fresh since he left the label in 2005, one of the lowest points of Cash Money Records. Moving up and moving on, obviously Cash Money Records has rebounded. Mannie Fresh has also moved on, working with Mos Def/Yasiin Bey on the OMFGOD album.
This week, Sway Calloway talked to Mannie Fresh for MTV’s “RapFix Live” and he spoke on the Big Tymers. Mannie Fresh offered his opinion on the new incarnation of the group, saying Drake and Lil Wayne are great, just not Big Tymers. But, he went on to discuss his upcoming new album with Mos Def/Yasiin Bey.
